What are my prices?
I keep things very simple. For any services, I charge a (cash only) hourly rate of just £35.
My hourly rate does not include any consumables or materials used, these are additional and are charged at the price I paid for them. I don’t make money on consumables or materials and I often get them at a lower price than they’re available normally.
An example of consumables:
- Welding: Welding wire, welding gas, metal.
- Carpentry: Sanding pads, adhesives, screws, ironmongery, timber, etc.
- Metalwork: Metal, Cutting/grinding discs, linishing pads, nuts & bolts, rivets, etc.
- Electrical: Crimps, cable, fittings, etc.
- Plumbing & LPG: Fittings, pipe, etc.
- Creativity: Paints, dyes, blowtorch gas,
- General: Knife blades, multi-tool blades, glues & adhesives, sealants, etc.
- Sewing, soft furnishings & textiles: Fabric, thread, fittings, etc.
- Wood Burner Installations: Sealant, fire cement, heat shielding, etc.
- Mechanical: All parts and lubrcants used.
- Electricity: If I am providing the power and the project is heavy on power (such as welding/some carpentry) I pass on the cost as I have to drive to and recharge at EV charge points.
Discounts: To give you an idea of the discounts I receive and pass on to you – The very best sealant/adhesive is CT1 which in B&Q, Toolstation, etc is around £13 per tube. I buy this for between £5 and £6. Sanding pads, etc. are often up to 50% less than retail shop prices.
Majority Materials: I ask that under normal situations that you provide the majority of all materials needed. At times, of course it does make sense that some things are better provided by me but we can chat about anything like this beforehand.
Rubbish Disposal: I do ask that you dispose of any waste left over from your project yourself as my Luton cannot go to a rubbish tip, they simply won’t let me in due to being over 3500Kg However, if you cannot dispose of the rubbish, I can visit the tip on my bike with the bike trailer for which I charge my normal hourly rate for. Not ideal though!
