Beyond The Van

“There’s no such thing as a problem – only a solution!”

So, you have an idea. Or, maybe you need an idea. Either way, if you have something that’s in need of a solution or you have a vision that needs turning into a reality, you’re in the right place.

I love a challenge and I love things that are out of the ordinary, especially if something needs inventing to create a solution!

This is probably the trickiest page on the website to write as I will literally take on anything that I think can be done – one way or another. Let’s throw a recent example out there:

In the sh*t…

I was contacted by a gentleman who’d had a super storage box made for the back of his van. The box was fitted to a wobbly tow bar mounted cycle carrier. This posed a problem that left him in the sh*t – literally. His toilet emptying cassette was on the back of the van and the only way to empty his loo was to unbolt this big, heavy box. Great fun in the rain on a dark night.

With only a week to go before his ferry to Ireland, Lee contacted me and asked if I could create a solution for his toilet problem. I said I’m not a Proctologist* but I can definitely help with the cassette access problem on the van!!

Lee drove up from Kent to let me have a look at the van and take measurements, before heading off to his next destination. I then designed a solution by means of a slide away carrier for his box. Amongst other things, the main criteria was that a metre of clerarance was needed between the box and the van and the carrier needed to hold nearly 100Kg. I drew up the plans, in my head of course – paper and pen is overrated! I then built my design and it was all done and coated ready for Lee to return less than a week later to have it fitted. The system worked absolutely perfectly and Lee had a couple of days to spare before his ferry to Ireland.

*Oh and yes, I did have to Google “proctologist” by searching “specialist in toiletry problems”. Well, it amused me, anyway!

I have the workshop facilities, expertise and practical knowledge to be able to solve most problems. If it can be thought up, I can make it. Sometimes it may seem as though you have an impossible problem – but that’s not so. There’s no such thing as a problem, only a solution.
