EMF Vehicle Shielding

Beyond The Van

Not so long ago, EMF shielding was something that was mainly asked for by people who were Electro Sensitive. Nowadays, with the introduction of untested and highly dangerous 5G, more and more people are finding driving to be a very draining task. Losing concentration, getting migraines and falling asleep at the wheel, but to name a few problems, are definitely not in the name of progress. 5G as well as 4G, 3G, 2G and heaven only knows what else is out there and that is fact. Not to mention the number of nearby vehicles with strong bluetooth, wi-fi, etc. surrounding us. Let’s not even talk about “smart” motorways. It’s all radiation, and that’s not good.

There is a very positive side to all this. A vehicle, whether that be a car or campervan, can be EMF shielded so it reduces the amount of radiation that can come in from outside. The radiation can be, on certain vehicles, be reduced by up to 80%.

Now let’s not forget common sense here. If your vehicle has been EMF shielded, you do need to turn your mobile phone off whilst in it, or at least put it in Aeroplane mode. We’re also going to assume your vehicle has no Bluetooth or WiFi built into it. Otherwise, your sheilded vehicle will act more as a microwave oven, and you’re the spud cooking.

By the very nature of EMF, the more metal your vehicle has (as opposed to glass), the better shielded it’s going to be. So if you’ve not already bought the vehicle, a small van with non glazed back doors would be a great starting point. Just remember, the more glass, the more EMF will come through.

I am able to shield the glass of your vehicle, by means of fitting an almost transparent film. This includes the windscreen. Now, to apply a film perfectly to a windscreen, the windscreen has to be removed from the vehicle. It is not possibly to apply film to a windscreen with it still fitted. On older vehicles where windscreens are held in by rubber (quite rare these days) such as LDV Convoy or Land Rover Defender, the screen can be popped out, have the film applied, and be re-fitted easily. Usually. However on most cars now, the screen is bonded in and removal without breaking it is often not possible. For this reason I recommend that I order in a brand new windscreen, have the film applied, then my local windscreen fitter comes and does the rest. Windscreeens are not as expensive as insurance companies would let you believe. Sometimes only £100. My Defender screen cost me £85 supplied and fitted.

Costs

The film is not cheap. You can shop around for days online looking for cheap EMF shielding film but very few can be fitted to curved glass (most car glass has a curve) and most block a lot of light which would be dangerous on a windscreen. The film I use is effective, minimal light reduction and can be applied to curved glass.  Fitting the film is a lengthy process and co-ordinating the windscreen fitter, film fitter, etc. is quite involved. Each vehicle is quoted individually and the cost is often in excess of £800. This sounds a lot of money, and it is. However, can you put a price on your safety and health when on the road?
